Guided Trips to the Sierra Nevada & Worldwide!
Umm...Which way do we go from here?

Navigation!

Have you ever wondered how on earth people travel off trails? How to use a compass? What all those lines on a topo map mean? If you have, this class is for you. We will go into depth how not to get lost in the woods, and how to find your way if you do. We’ll teach map and compass skills, whiteout and low visibility navigation as well as GPS navigation.

During the winter this course is offered a day before all of our avalanche courses to prepare students with the necessary navigation skills that are a prerequisite for the AIARE Level 1 course. Don't feel like you need to be signed up for an avalanche course though to benefit from this trip!
