Guided Trips to the Sierra Nevada & Worldwide!

Camp on the San Joaquin Ridge with the Minarets in the background.

Mammoth to June Traverse

Mammoth to June is the classic interconnect crest tour between the two ski resorts of the Eastern Sierra. The road to Minaret Summit puts us atop San Joaquin Ridge instantly where we enjoy unobstructed panoramas for two straight days. This is a wild and amazing journey that finishes in the backcountry adjacent to June Mountain Ski Resort.

In a 10-mile crest tour over 2 days, this route has a cumulative 3650 feet of elevation gain with around 5200 feet of elevation loss. This makes it a perfect introductory multiday Sierra ski tour. Still, the terrain is rugged and the way is challenging. Skiers must be able to wield an overnight winter pack on skis going up and down. This Tour makes an excellent weekend jaunt or as part of a longer ski holiday in the Eastern Sierra.
