June Mountain Off-Piste

Sierra Mountain Guides and June Mountain are working together to bring you the best possible backcounty experience anywhere.

Do you get "piste off" at the masses stealing all of your fresh tracks at the ski area? Then go "Off-Piste"!

June Mountain may be renowned for its low angle groomers and family-friendly atmosphere, but just a short hike away lies some of the best lift-accessed backcountry terrain in the West. Access the Gnome Zone, San Joaquin Ridge, the Negatives, Fern Creek, Carson Peak, Devil's Slide, Four Seasons, and more just a short out-of bounds tour away. SMG guides are trained or certified through the AMGA so you know that your are getting the right guide for the right trip. Our guides live and ski in the June Mountain Area, so they know the area well. Conditions permitting we can enjoy a 5,000 foot ski run to the road, with only a little more than 2,000 feet of climbing. Some of the best value skiing in the Sierra!

We offer economical one day off-piste ski days at June Mountain for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders. This is a great way for intermediate skiers to try out backcountry snow conditions for the first time. For expert skiers and snowboarders, there is no shortage of easily accessed steeps in a dramatic alpine setting.

Sierra Mountain Guides operates in partnership and under permit with the Inyo National Forest

Thanks again for a real kick-ass day. As you already know, my kids loved the back-country trip, which makes the best investment of my hard-earned money and time, sharing such a wonderful experience. Btw, I like your website. Very full and professional.  But your ‘off-piste’ humor is kinda of corny.. Do you get "piste off" at the masses stealing all of your fresh tracks at the ski area? Then go "Off-Piste"!
