Learning to Lead Climb
Our full day "Learning to Lead" class, is for the initiated climber that has the groundwork of protection placement and anchor building down. We'll discuss different approaches for leading traditional style climbs including anchor selection, attaching to the anchor, and different belay methods. You will have ample opportunity to do some practice leads (with a top rope backup) and have the instructor give you valuable feedback on your gear placements. Along with the core skills of leading, you'll also learn the finer points such as route selection, rope management, protecting the second, interpreting the guidebook, and how to safely retreat
