Aid Climbing Skills Seminar
Aid Climbing is an important skill, whether you've been dreaming of Yosemite big walls or looking for that extra confidence to try a route that's pushing your limit. Aid climbing can get you through a pinch. You'll practice different aid techniques, both quick and simple, as well as the more complex moves . We'll look at different options for using etriers, daisy chains, and jumars both traditional and improvised.

Prerequisites:

  • Prior climbing experience is necessary.
  • Our Protection and Anchors course or equivalent.
  • Discover Rock Climbing Course or equivalent.
  • You'll get the most from this class if you have good protection placement and anchor building skills.
  • You should have a solid understanding of basic knots, anchoring, belaying, and rappelling.

Included:

  • All rock climbing equipment:
    • harness
    • helmet
    • sticky rubber climbing shoes
    • belay device
  • Group climbing equipment (ropes, protection, etc.)
  • AMGA trained and/or certified guide
  • All necessary permits

Not included:

  • Lunch/drinks
  • Transportation to and from location.
