Guided Trips to the Sierra Nevada & Worldwide!

Sierra Mountain Guide's Current Conditions Reports are for the Eastern Sierra Nevada. We will report on conditions as we see them, or as our friends report them. Please contact us to report conditions in various locations whenever possible and we will add your comments to these reports.

Ice Report
SMG's report of ice conditions is for ice climbs in the Sierra Nevada. Ice conditions can change rapidly with changing weather. Be aware and knowledgeable of factors leading to stable snow and ice, and perceptive enough to back off in poor conditions. Snow avalanches may threaten ice climbing areas, so be sure to also check out the latest backcountry avalanche advisory at the Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center website.

Backcountry Snow Report
This snow report is a log of snow quality conditions found in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. This is NOT a backcountry avalanche advisory, which can be useful for recreational avalanche risk management. You will find the latest backcountry avalanche advisory at the Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center website.

Couloir Report: (June-October)

This report is for summer/fall alpine snow and ice couloirs in the Sierra Nevada. Help us stay up to date, give us your reports and photos!

"Just want to say thanks so so much for your videos of the eastern sierras ski reports. We spend most springs camping and skiing in this area and I just found your video reports on the internet and they are so so incredibly helpful."
